Homeplace. Dollhouse.

Years ago, for Christmas, my Dad and his friend made this wonderful dollhouse for me and my sister.  This must have been around, say–1975.

It was a replica of our own house, which we had built in 1974.  What a nice gift!

A couple of special features that I wish you could see from the pic:  The roof lifted up and back.

The front flopped down.  There was a second floor that was removeable!

And perhaps the best of all…homemade doll furniture.  And carpeting from our family room in its corresponding mini room–in flaming orange and red SHAG.  ‘Cause that’s how we rolled…

It was the best.  Thanks, Dad.
