Summer Sparkle: Soda Pop Tops

As a Midwestern child of the 70’s, I remember Summer meant one thing:  trying to keep cool.

And one staple of this time of year was soda pop.  The kind that came in a heavy six-pack.  With the tall glass bottles.

They would sit in our garage, a cool spot in our basement.  For us to grab.  Preferably to bring back in the cool Suburban central a/c.  After a sweaty session of roller skating.

As a lover of all things vintage and ephemeral.  And of graphic design and pop culture–it is no wonder that I simply love the small bottle-top art that can be found on collectible bottle caps.

Especially *crushing* (see how I did that?) on these.  From Tx Soda Jerks on Etsy.

Stay cool.  It’s heating up out there…
